What does my child need to start taking drum lessons?

A pair of sticks, notebook, and something to hit (a drum pad, snare drum, a drum set, a phone book, cook book, text book, etc). For virtual lessons you’ll need a computer and access to the internet.

How often should I schedule my lessons?

Everyone’s needs are different! We’ll talk about you or your child’s goals and determine the best cadence for lessons from there.

How long should my lessons be?

Everyone is different and attention spans can vary. When we first speak, we’ll discuss you or your child’s goals/needs and determine the best length of lessons. This can always shift over time!

How much will I need to practice?

There’s no perfect rule for practice time. That said, the more you put into it the more you get out of it. Everyone’s learning journey will be different.

Should I buy any equipment/ how much will equipment cost me?

Everyone is different in what they want and need to learn. We’ll work together to get you set up with everything you need. That being said, the average cost for sticks and drum pad is around $40.

What is the youngest age you will teach?

4-5 years old with a parent present/depending on the kid. Individually, 6 and up. I have taught all ages: preschoolers through late adulthood.

Do I need any music books?

No, I will supply the texts needed. Depending on what you are working on and interested in, I can recommend texts for purchase.
